Partner-branded workspaces
Not shown in partner-branded workspaces.
Visible to the account owner. In a partner-branded workspace the end users never see billing; the partner manages the plan.
Before you begin
- The subscription belongs to your account, not to a workspace. The plan name, the status chip, the plan actions and the add-on rows all read your own account, and every workspace you own draws from that one plan.
- The usage rings underneath are the exception: they read the workspace you are currently in, funded by whoever owns it. Signed in as a teammate you can see that workspace’s usage there while the card above still offers you a View plans button, because the subscription it reads is your own.
Steps
1
Open the Subscription tab
Choose . With a subscription on the account,
the plan card leads with a status chip (1) and three actions: Change plan (2),
Manage billing (3) and Cancel plan (4).The chip carries the subscription’s own status, with each word capitalised: Active,
Trialing, Past Due and Canceled each get their own colour, and any other status the
subscription is in shows in grey.
2
Compare against an account with no plan yet
Without a subscription, the same card drops the status chip and the three actions for a
single View plans button (1), above the line “You’re on the free plan. Upgrade to unlock
more credits, recipients and channels.” Both that button and Change plan open the same
screen. The plan name itself is not the tell. With no plan on the subscription the hero reads
Free plan or Custom plan depending only on how many credits you are allowed (see
Plans and credits), so read the buttons, not the
heading.
3
Change your plan
Choose Change plan (or View plans if you don’t have one) to open the plan screen, headed
Choose your plan. Each card’s button names the plan it buys; the card for the plan you
are already on, at the billing period you are already on, is disabled and reads
Current plan instead. The monthly/annual toggle starts on whichever one you have. What picking a card does depends on the account:
- A live subscription (active, on trial, or cancelled but still inside the period you paid for) is swapped onto the new plan in place: prorated, charged to the card on file, and with every add-on you already had kept, rather than a second subscription being created.
- No live subscription (nothing at all, or one that has already ended) sends you to a Stripe-hosted checkout page to enter payment details first.
4
Update your payment method or find an invoice
Choose Manage billing to open Stripe’s billing portal, in this tab rather than a new
one. The button shows a spinner and stays disabled while the link is fetched, and leaving
the portal brings you back to this page. This is the one control here that follows the workspace rather than your account: it opens
the billing account that pays for the workspace you are currently in, which for a teammate
is the owner’s. Your own card on file and invoice history are on a separate tab: see
Payment methods and invoices.
5
Cancel your plan
Choose Cancel plan. There is no confirmation dialog. The click cancels.Cancelling does not cut your access off: the plan runs to the end of the period you have
already paid for, and then does not renew. A toast reading “Your subscription has been
canceled” is the only thing that changes on screen. The status chip does not change, and
the three buttons stay exactly where they were.
6
Add or remove an add-on
Under Add-ons, the trash icon on a row removes that add-on: a toast names what was removed
and the row goes. Removing one re-invoices the subscription straight away and restarts its
billing cycle from today; the usage rings keep resetting on the same anchor day as before. The card’s header carries Add more credits whether or not there are any rows, and when
the list is empty a second Add credits button sits in the middle of the card. Both open the
same credit packs: see Buy more credits.
What happens next
Cancelling leaves the page looking identical: same chip, same three buttons, same usage
rings. The toast is the confirmation, and everything the plan unlocks keeps working until the
period you paid for runs out.
Troubleshooting
I clicked Cancel plan by mistake
I clicked Cancel plan by mistake
There is no undo control on this page. Your access still runs to the end of the period you
paid for, so there is time.Until then the subscription still counts as live, which means picking a plan on the plan
screen swaps you back onto one and clears the pending cancellation. Your own plan’s card is
still marked Current plan and cannot be chosen, so it has to be a different plan, or
the same one on the other billing period, using the monthly/annual toggle. If neither is
what you want, mail support@pipelime.ai before the period
ends.
Manage billing doesn't open anything
Manage billing doesn't open anything
A toast names what went wrong, or reads “Could not open the billing portal” if the request
failed without a message of its own. Nothing on this page changes. The button re-enables,
so try it again.
