Read access to Meeting Links
read-meeting-links. Admin, Member and Viewer have it by default. To create or change
create-meeting-links to add one, update-meeting-links to change one, on top of the permission above. If you cannot find this in your sidebar, your workspace may have a custom menu configuration. Contact support and we will check it for you.
1
Create the link
Open . Every button on this page that makes a link does
exactly the same thing: Create new link on the Company Meeting Link banner, New meeting
link in the corner of the Individual Meeting Links card, and, while you have no links yet, New
meeting link inside the empty box.Whichever you click, the link is saved immediately with
30-min Meeting (new) at
30-min-meeting, a description, a 30-minute duration, Monday-to-Friday weekly hours, 60 minutes
of minimum notice, and reminders a day and an hour before the meeting. No custom questions are
added. You land on that link’s own settings page.2
Name it and set its URL
Description is optional. Meeting Name and the URL Slug field are not.The slug becomes the last part of your link’s public address, and an info banner under the field
spells the whole address out as you type. Only lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens belong in
it. The field will let you type anything; what happens is that the slug fails validation, and
once you have left the field or tried to save, it shows Slug can only contain lowercase letters,
numbers, and hyphens underneath.Typing a name here only fills in the slug on a link that has none. By the time you reach this
screen your new link already has one, so renaming it afterwards leaves the URL alone. Edit the
URL Slug field yourself if you want the two to match again.
3
Set the duration and where attendees land
Further down the form, past Hosts and Availability (both covered on their own pages), Meeting
Settings holds the two fields that shape the booking itself.Duration (minutes) opens on the 30-minute default from creation, and the number you type is
minutes: a long meeting is entered in minutes, not hours. It accepts anywhere from 5 minutes to
8 hours; go outside that and the field says Minimum duration is 5 minutes or Maximum duration
is 8 hours. Clearing the field puts 30 back rather than leaving it empty.Redirect URL is optional and takes a full URL. Attendees who book through this link are sent
there afterwards.
4
Connect a calendar (optional)
The Google Calendar card sits at the very top of the form, above Basic Information, and names
what connecting gets you: automatic calendar event creation, meeting links in calendar invites,
and real-time availability sync. Connect Google Calendar starts that connection. Nothing here
is required to save the link, and you can come back and do it later.
5
Save
Scroll past Hosts, Availability, Limits, Email Reminders and Custom Questions (each covered on
its own page) and submit from the button in the right-hand column. On a link you opened this
way it reads Update Meeting Link, and Updating… while it saves. Cancel sits under it and
goes back to the list without saving.Nothing submits while a field is invalid. The section holding the offending field opens itself
and puts the message under it, so a collapsed section never hides the reason.
What happens next
You get a Meeting link updated successfully notification and land back on the list, where the
link’s card sits in Individual Meeting Links.
Troubleshooting
The URL is not the one I typed
The URL is not the one I typed
Two different things do this.A slug already in use is not rejected. It is saved with a number appended (
intro-call becomes
intro-call-2, then intro-call-3), and you are told nothing. That applies to the slug you type
as well as to the default one, and addresses have to be unique across every workspace, not just
yours, so a common word can come back with a number on it. Reopen the link after saving to see
the address you actually got.The other cause is renaming: the slug follows the name only while a link has no slug at all.
Every link created from this page has one from the start, so typing a new Meeting Name never
moves the URL. Change the URL Slug field too.The card warns Calendar integration required for booking
The card warns Calendar integration required for booking
A link with no calendar behind it carries that amber warning on its card in the list. It is a
nudge, not a block: the link still shows times and still takes bookings. What you lose until you
connect one is the part the Google Calendar card advertises: busy times read from a real
calendar, and a video link on the invite.Connect a calendar from the top of the link’s own settings page, or from
calendar connections for the people who host.
