Workspace switcher→Workspaces
Always reachable, including while a plan is expired.
Before you begin
- You need to be able to open the inbox for the address the invitation was sent to. The invitation is what signs you in the first time.
- You do not need an account first. If that address has never been used here, the invitation creates one; if it has, that same account is added to the workspace.
- Nothing asks you for a plan or a card. Credits belong to the workspace, not to you.
Steps
1
Find the invitation in your inbox
The subject names the workspace you were invited to and the product it runs
under. Search for either if the email has slipped down the pile.Inside there is one button, labeled “Log In”. It carries a sign-in link that
is personal to you. Anyone who opens it is signed in as you, so treat it the
way you would treat a password and do not forward it.
2
Open the sign-in link
The button opens the app and signs you in. There is no form on the way,
because there is no password on your account to type. You will see a loading screen for a moment. That is the app taking the link
back out of the address bar, so it is not left behind in your browser
history.
3
Tell us your name
An invitation creates you with an address and nothing else, so the first
thing the app asks for is a name. Type it and choose Continue. This is the one thing you cannot skip. The escape key does nothing, clicking
outside does nothing, and there is no cancel. The box closes by itself once
the name saves. Your teammates see that name against everything you do, and
the circle above the field previews the initials it will show.
4
Enter the workspace
Behind the name box you land on your workspaces, one card for each workspace
you belong to (1). Choose Enter (2) and you are on that workspace’s
dashboard.A workspace you were invited to carries no Owner badge. That badge is
drawn only on a workspace you created yourself, so its absence here is
correct rather than a sign that something is missing.
What happens next
You are on the dashboard of the workspace you were invited to, and it is in
your workspaces list from now on.
If the workspace runs under partner branding, the invitation arrives under
that partner’s name and logo, and the app uses their name where you would
otherwise see ours, including in the line above the name field. Nothing about
the way in changes. One thing on the other side of it does: the Create
Workspace card is drawn only for the partner, so starting a workspace of
your own is not offered there.
Troubleshooting
The invitation never arrived
The invitation never arrived
Check your junk folder first. Then ignore the invitation and sign in the ordinary way with the same
address. The sign-in screen emails a fresh link to any address, and yours
exists from the moment the invitation was sent, so that link puts you in
exactly the same place. See
Signing in to PipeLime.Asking to be invited again works, with a catch worth passing on. An
invitation carries a role as well as an address, and if that role is not the
one you already hold, the whole thing is refused: no second invitation is
sent, and whoever invited you gets an error back telling them to change your
role from the members list instead. Ask them to invite you on the role you
were given the first time. Either way you never end up with a second
account, and a re-invitation never changes your role.
The name box will not go away
The name box will not go away
It is not dismissable, and that is on purpose. Continue stays disabled
until you type something, and the box closes on its own the moment the name
saves. There is nothing hidden behind it that you are missing. It is the last thing
between you and the app, not a step you have failed.
