Your role needs
Read access to Companies
read-lead-companies. Admin, Member and Viewer have it by default. To create or change
create-lead-companies to add one, update-lead-companies to change one, on top of the permission above. If you cannot find this in your sidebar, your workspace may have a custom menu configuration. Contact support and we will check it for you.
Before you begin
- Companies belong to the workspace you’re viewing. Switch workspaces first if the one you’re after lives in a different one.
- Three more grants decide what a row offers you, on top of what the block above covers:
update-lead-companiesfor Edit, Discard and Restore;delete-lead-companiesfor Delete;create-importsfor Import Companies.
Steps
1
Open the list
Go to . Companies fill one table, with columns for
Company (logo, name and, when it has one, its website domain as a link), Tags, Email,
Phone, Score and Actions, sorted with the most recently analyzed company first.Hovering a company’s logo shows when it was analyzed, or when it was added if it has no analysis
date; a company still being analyzed has no such tooltip. Clicking the logo opens a larger preview;
clicking the name opens the company’s own record. See
Company details and AI Instructions & Context. A summary
line above the rows reports how many companies match your current view. If any lead source is
running, a row at the top of the table says so (more on that in the last step below).
2
Search and filter
Search company matches the company name or any email address on it; type and press Enter, since
nothing refetches as you type. Lead Generation narrows the list to the companies one lead source
found. Filter by tags filters by one or more tags at once. Filter by date filters by when each
company finished being analyzed, not when it was added. A company still being analyzed has no such
date yet, so it drops out of any range you set.Active and Discarded, at the right of the filter row, switch between the two views. Discard
and Restore, further down this page, are what move a company between them.
3
Read the match score
The Score column rates how likely it is that a company could buy what you sell, judged against
your own company profile, as a number from 0 to 100 in a colored ring:
Hover a ring and you get the band and the percentage, nothing more. The written rationale is not
part of the list; open the company’s record to read it next to the score. A company that has not been
scored shows a grey dash instead of a number, and its tooltip reads “Match score not yet calculated”.
See Quality gate and match score for how the number
is calculated.
4
Add a company by hand
Choosing Add Company in the header opens a form: Company Name is the only required field,
alongside Description, AI Instructions & Context, Industry, Company Size, repeatable
Emails and Phone Numbers, and Links (Website/Socials). You can also add a logo and put the
company in one or more of your tags. Choosing Edit on a row opens the same form, pre-filled, for
an existing company.A company you add this way counts as analyzed the moment you save it, which means nothing scores it
for you. Scoring it is a separate action. See the first item under Troubleshooting.
5
Discard or restore a company
On a row in the Active view, Discard asks you to confirm, then excludes that company from
email campaigns and lead population. You can restore it later. Switch to the Discarded view to
see what you’ve excluded; there, the same row shows Restore instead, which makes the company
available again for email campaigns and repopulates its leads if applicable. Neither action is offered
on a company that is still being analyzed.Delete, on the far right, is a different action: it takes the company out of the workspace
altogether rather than just excluding it, and it’s gated by its own permission, separate from Discard.
6
Track imports and an active search
Import Companies opens the CSV import flow. See
Import companies from a CSV. View Imports opens the
Company Imports list for tracking those in progress. Refresh reloads the current view.
Export asks for a date range by creation date, then queues a background job. The finished file
arrives by email rather than downloading right away.A company still being processed, freshly found or freshly imported, carries a small Analyzing…
badge next to its name, with placeholder cells in place of its tags, email, phone and score until
PipeLime finishes gathering its details. Filter to a lead source that is still running and has not
returned any companies yet, and the page says so outright instead of showing you an empty table.
What happens next
The table shows only the companies matching your search, tags, lead-generation and date filters, in
whichever of Active or Discarded you picked. Each one carries its own match score once its analysis
finishes.
Troubleshooting
A company has no score
A company has no score
Nothing scores a company you added by hand, and scoring is skipped whenever the description in your
Company Settings or the company’s own description is missing or too thin to judge. Fill both in,
then open the company’s record and use Calculate Score there. It needs the same permission as
Edit. See
Company details and AI Instructions & Context.
Discard and Delete aren't the same action
Discard and Delete aren't the same action
Discard hides a company from campaigns and lead population without losing it. Restore brings
it straight back. Delete takes the company out of your lists altogether, needs its own permission,
and nothing in the app brings it back. Reach for Discard first unless you’re sure.
Companies a source just found aren't showing yet
Companies a source just found aren't showing yet
The list only ever shows companies that have finished analysis or are in the middle of it, so a
company found seconds ago appears once its analysis starts. If you’ve set a range on
Filter by date, remember it filters by when analysis finished, not by when the company arrived,
so anything still analyzing sits outside every range until it completes.
