Your role needs
Update access to Advanced
update-companies. Admin have it by default. If you cannot find this in your sidebar, your workspace may have a custom menu configuration. Contact support and we will check it for you.
Before you begin
- Opening the tab and deleting from it are two different permissions. The button needs
delete-companies, on top of whatever let you open the tab. Of the three system roles only Admin holds it, and a custom role holds it only where the Delete box is ticked on the companies row of its grid. Roles & Permissions covers how a grid is built. - A role that holds the first permission without the second still sees the Danger Zone in full, description and all, with no button beside it. The button is not shown disabled, it is not rendered at all.
- The delete removes the workspace itself, not your own access to it, so it goes for every member at once.
Steps
1
Open the Advanced tab
Go to . The tab holds one card, Advanced Settings, and the only thing in it
is the Danger Zone: a red-bordered box with a warning icon, the heading, and a line saying these actions are
destructive and cannot be reversed. Under a divider sits a Delete Company row, telling you there is no going
back, with the button on the right.
2
Open Delete Company
Choose Delete Company. Nothing is sent yet: the button opens a confirmation dialog and that is all it does. The
dialog names your workspace by its exact name, in bold, and lists what goes with it:
- All company settings and configurations
- All team members and their access
- All associated data and history
3
Type DELETE to confirm
Type
DELETE into the field below that list, upper or lower case, either works. The dialog’s Delete Company
button stays disabled until it matches, and anything else you type turns the field red.The check only recognizes the English word, whatever language the interface is in. On the Spanish interface the
placeholder tells you to type ELIMINAR, and typing the Spanish word leaves the button disabled. Only DELETE
unlocks it, in every locale.4
Confirm the deletion
Choose Delete Company in the dialog, now enabled. It reads Deleting… while the request is in flight. On
success a toast confirms the workspace is deleted and the app takes you out of it.
What happens next
The workspace is gone from your account and from every member’s, and you are not left looking at your workspace list:
the app opens one of your remaining workspaces for you.
Troubleshooting
The deletion fails
The deletion fails
The dialog stays open with what you typed still in the field, and a toast reports what came back from the server.
A refused request changes nothing, so the workspace is still there and the button is ready to try again.
